Meet The Artist
I was born and raised in Stockton, CA to Mexican parents and relocated to San Diego 10 years ago. I started taking photos at the age of 12 and have spent my adult years showcasing work in local art shows and galleries in town. I started shooting only digital but have ventured off into primarily working with 35mm and 120 film. Most recently, I have taken on the role of curating art shows and putting together art events. My main goal is to hold space for artists of all mediums in order to promote a supportive art community.
As a Chicana photographer, I am driven by a profound commitment to preserving and celebrating my culture through the powerful mediums of film and digital photography. In a world where histories are often distorted or erased, my purpose is to stand as a visual storyteller, capturing the essence of our life and ensuring that our narrative endures, unfiltered and authentic, for the generations that follow.
In every frame, I aim to challenge stereotypes and confront misrepresentations, presenting an unapologetic celebration of cultural pride. Through the lens, I hope to inspire a sense of cultural belonging and foster an understanding that transcends borders, reminding us all of the shared humanity that binds us together.
Thank you all for being here. I greatly appreciate your support.
Con Mucho Amor,
-Arianna
