“Vivir Es Morir” was a one night only art event featuring 25 local artists that featured mediums which included photography, paintings, and mixed media. It was the first time I had ever co-produced and co-curated an art show and took place on November 10th, 2023. My goal was to create a community of both artists and art lovers to support one another and come together to connect over our shared appreciation for local art. We had 10 different small businesses that included retail vendors, food vendors, tattoo artists, and jewelry vendors. The night featured music by 4 different DJ’s and welcomed 200 people through our doors. Check out our flyer and our statement down below.
To live is to die. Death is not subjective to just our physical death. We have deaths of our egos, our past selves, and our layers as humans. We wanted to curate an exhibit together that reflects how we see and celebrate death in our daily lives and the different interpretations we all have of it. This exhibit is not to instill fear, but rather to encourage us to find solace in the cycle of life and reflect on the impermanence that defines our human experience.
We invite you to join us in exploring the unraveling of the eternal dance between life and death through each of our artist’s pieces.
“Death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it.” So our question to you is, death is calling...will you answer?”
